How I got started:
I started skating with my father. If you do not know my father, he is a GREAT hockey player. He would teach "Learn to Play Hockey" classes and I would absorb as much as possible always hoping that some day I would be half as good as he was.
One thing led to another and I started playing with a girls traveling team then on my high school team - Woodland Hills. I played defense which was very comical at times when the opposing team would crash the net and I would try to move someone that towered me by feet. Oooh the Days of CONTACT Hockey;-)
Then there was Chatham College where I was captain for two years.... I learned a lot about team politics and I did learned about the importance of a good COACH and a TEAM that played together on and off the ice.
I transferred to Slippery Rock University and I played on the newly created women’s ice hockey team. I played defense again.
This is my 5th year as a Piranha and I could not ask for a better group of woman to call a team. We may not win all of our games BUT we play hard and we have fun!
WE HAVE A CHAMPIONSHIP TO FIGHT FOR THIS SEASON! WATCH OUT - THE PIRANHAS HAVE A MEAN BITE %5E%5E%5E%5E
